Threshold of Authority, Endings, and New Foundations
This New Moon arrives once again in the final degree of Capricorn (29°), marking a powerful threshold. It speaks not only of new beginnings, but also of culmination, the completion of a karmic chapter that has reached its natural end.
When a lunation occurs at the last degree of a sign, it carries the wisdom of everything that came before it. This is a moment of reckoning, maturation, and conscious transition.
A Lunation of Maturity and Inner Authority
This New Moon invites a sober and honest connection with our authentic authority, our responsibilities, credibility, inner wisdom, and the wisdom of elders. It is a time to grow up inwardly, to clarify what we stand for, and to align our actions with our values.
Surrounding this lunation is a powerful stellium. In Capricorn, the Sun and Moon are joined by Mars and Mercury, while just beyond, in Aquarius, we find Venus, Pluto, and the asteroid Vesta. This creates a radical and potent alignment, supported by two minor Grand Trines that offer constructive, forward moving energy.
In other words: something meaningful can be built here, if we move with intention and awareness.
Revisiting Our Relationship With Authority
This New Moon asks us to reflect deeply:
How do we nurture the wise Elder within us?
How do we act as authority in our own lives, both internally and externally?
What decisions are we making, and from what place?
The answers will depend on where Capricorn falls in your personal chart, but these themes may show up through family dynamics, career, community roles, partnerships, health, or values.
This lunation may bring moments of honesty, perhaps uncomfortable at first, that ultimately help us upgrade how we perceive authority, morality, stability, and order in our lives.
A Six Month Initiation
From this New Moon until the Full Moon in Capricorn on June 29, we enter a six month cycle of testing and refinement. Themes of integrity, competence, and ethical responsibility will be highlighted, both personally and collectively.
Capricorn’s ruler, Saturn, continues its long conjunction with Neptune in the final degrees of Pisces. This alignment supports the dissolution of outdated structures, social, religious, and institutional as well as unhealthy conditioning and corroded leadership.
We can see this clearly reflected in the world around us.
The invitation is to let go of what no longer serves life, while consciously envisioning what we are ready to build instead.
Becoming Our Own Authority
This is a powerful moment to connect with your inner authority and ask:
What am I here to build that will last?
What kind of foundation do I want to stand on?
Can I become my own leader?
Can I live sovereign, aligned with my values, and act accordingly?
Mars and Mercury add momentum, courage, and decisiveness. Yet this is not a time to rush. Reactivity, defensiveness, or unnecessary conflict can easily arise. Discernment is key, allowing what is no longer aligned to dissolve, rather than forcing confrontation.
Preparation matters now. Grounding matters now. The work you do quietly will support the actions that come later.
Preparing for the Next Wave
On February 20, Saturn and Neptune meet exactly at 0° Aries, initiating a new cycle of action, vision, and leadership. From that point on, instinct, passion, and creative force will seek expression. This New Moon, however, is about laying the groundwork.
Releasing Old Values and Attachments
The conjunction of Black Moon Lilith with the asteroid Grieve may bring shadows connected to endings and loss, especially the loss of beliefs or truths that once shaped the authority we trusted or embodied.
Opposite this, Uranus in Taurus calls for an upgrade: releasing outdated attachments, reclaiming independence and self sufficiency, and reconnecting with our own values and resources.
We may notice how attached we still are to status, achievements, or identities built on an old value system.
This lunation gently, but firmly asks us to let go.
Collective Shifts in Values and Systems
On a collective level, this New Moon speaks strongly of deep transformation within value and monetary systems, particularly those associated with Capricorn themes such as banking and governance. With Venus and Pluto in Aquarius, we are witnessing the early stages of a shift toward digitalization, potential resets and collapse of old financial system, and profound changes in how we relate to value, love, and exchange.
Such transitions can feel destabilising, which is why conscious reflection and grounding are essential during this time.
Building Something Real, Together
This is an excellent period for creative group projects, local initiatives, and small scale systems rooted in shared values. Aquarius favors collaboration, while Capricorn insists on practicality.
Create something tangible. Earth connected. Real. Something you can touch, hold, and nurture, not only something virtual.

“An Unexpected Thunderstorm”
Keynote: The need to develop inner security that enables us to meet unexpected crises.
The energy of this time may feel electric, anxious, and exaggerated. Yet we can always return to the body, the breath, and the senses, to what is tangible in our lives and find a place of inner security.
This is why we practice grounding:
to navigate stormy days,
to remember that nothing truly dies,
that everything is interconnected,
and that there is a greater plan unfolding,
one that Earth will continue with or without our resistance.
This New Moon invites us to release what has ended and step forward into what we truly love, who we truly are, and how we can consciously work together to build a future rooted in integrity.
