New Moon in Gemini, June 15, 2026

This New Moon takes place at 24° Gemini. Like every New Moon, it marks the beginning of a new cycle and the planting of seeds that will unfold over the next six months, culminating with the Full Moon in Gemini on November 24, 2026.

The decan ruler of this New Moon is Uranus, and Uranian themes are strongly emphasized. Uranus is squaring the Virgo–Pisces Lunar Nodes, while Black Moon Lilith stands in opposition to the New Moon. Together, these influences suggest a powerful period of mental shifts, unexpected developments, and the need to question old assumptions.

So, let's unpack this lunation.

The Moon in Gemini nurtures us through communication, learning, study, exploration, and travel. Gemini seeks understanding through curiosity and conversation. During this lunation, our minds can become active participants in emotional processing. Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, is in Cancer, creating a strong signature around understanding and expressing our feelings.

We may simply feel safer when we understand what we are feeling.

This is an excellent time to bridge the gap between thoughts and emotions, regardless of which comes first, the chicken or the egg.

It is also a valuable opportunity to educate ourselves and those close to us about emotional awareness and healthy emotional processing.

This is the moment to write a poem, compose a song, keep a journal, or find another creative way to express your inner world.

With the Sun in Gemini, our sense of purpose is connected to learning, communication, mobility, and our immediate environment.

We are invited to explore how knowledge can help us navigate life more effectively, what new skills or perspectives we can acquire, and how greater understanding can contribute to a better future for ourselves and the next generation.

Mercury, ruling this New Moon, is in Cancer and conjunct both Jupiter and asteroid Hygeia. This combination may manifest in several ways. One theme is healing and understanding our emotional vulnerabilities.

We may gain deeper insight into family dynamics, ancestral patterns, and even matters involving siblings.

Another manifestation may involve changing rules, limitations, or adjustments related to travel, borders, transportation, and freedom of movement. Jupiter expands whatever it touches, while Cancer draws attention to themes of security, belonging, and emotional foundations.

Uranus appears to be one of the major players during this New Moon.

Known for sudden disruptions, breakthroughs, and awakenings, Uranus often requires us to adapt and evolve beyond outdated ways of thinking.

At this time, Uranus is asking us to think differently.

Its exact square to the Virgo–Pisces Lunar Nodes challenges established systems related to work, service, employment, health, daily routines, and functionality. We may be called to release old expectations, forgive what cannot be controlled, and recognise that larger collective forces are at work. This can be a period when events affecting large groups of people require personal adjustments or sacrifices in service of broader changes that are unfolding.

Collectively, this configuration may coincide with disruptions involving travel and transportation, intensified weather patterns, radioactive air pollution, public health concerns, shifting international alliances, and increased financial volatility as we move toward the end of June and into July. Continued geopolitical tensions and conflicts can get very serious especially in the middle East and Europe.

If you are planning significant travel during the coming months, especially from July onward, having comprehensive travel insurance may be a wise precaution.

Yet rather than focusing exclusively on what lies beyond our control, let's focus on what we can influence.

Not everything we hear through the media or social media reflects the full truth. Black Moon Lilith opposing this New Moon challenges us to distinguish between information and wisdom, between narratives and reality, and between fear and genuine intuition.

The same principle applies to our inner world.

How can we change the way we think about our emotional vulnerability?

Can we recognise that our feelings influence our thoughts, while our thoughts also shape our feelings?

This lunation invites us to explore the shadows hidden within both our personal truths and collective truths. By questioning assumptions and remaining open to new perspectives, we can develop a stronger inner foundation, one that allows us to feel safe and authentic regardless of external circumstances.

Gemini reminds us that growth often begins with curiosity.

What can I learn that I did not know before?

How can I reconnect with my local community?

What can I discover in my immediate environment?

How can I return to simplicity and cultivate experiences that stimulate creativity, flexibility, and resilience?

These small actions can nourish a new way of thinking and help us navigate whatever changes may be approaching.

Many of these themes will continue to unfold under the upcoming Full Moon in Capricorn at the end of June, but that is a story for the next lunation update.

On a personal note, I have spent the last few weeks traveling through South America, supporting local communities rebuilding homes after last year's wildfires and visiting some of the remote and breathtaking natural landscapes of Chile and Argentina.

I've included a few photos of the nature below to contemplate . Enjoy
