New Moon in Sagittarius: A Call to Authenticity, Intuition, and Meaning

The New Moon in Sagittarius is here, inviting us into greater authenticity, deeper intuition, renewed faith, and a search for meaning in our lives.

You may still feel foggy or uncertain about the direction you want to take or perhaps too many paths are appearing at once, leaving you confused or overwhelmed.

This New Moon opens a doorway to new adventures and the realisation of the untapped potential within each of us. It highlights how we can express our creativity with more purpose, meaning, success, and opportunity. Positive thinking and genuine optimism may give us the courage to challenge the limitations or “status quo” we have outgrown.

During this time, we can reconnect with our natural sense of Self and express our creativity more authentically.

We may finally begin to believe in ourselves and our truth.

Questions such as

“What am I here to do?” and

“What is the purpose behind all of this?”

may rise to the surface.

For those who have gone through painful life experiences, the Sagittarian influence may already be familiar, pushing you to search for a higher, spiritual purpose behind your challenges and asking what deeper meaning your life holds. Others may simply feel inspired to seek a more abundant and adventurous life. Either way, this lunation guides us toward a more truthful and authentic way of living.

It is especially important now to surround ourselves with people who support us and allow us to be who we truly are. For many, this will naturally unfold through time spent with family and friends during the Christmas and New Year season.

The Shadow: Rigidity, Righteousness, and Over-Identification with Beliefs

The shadow of this New Moon may show up as self-righteousness or emotional attachment to our own beliefs. With Mars in Capricorn and Mercury in Sagittarius conjunct the New Moon, we may feel more defensive or overly confident in presenting our truth as “ the only one.”

This can create communication challenges and potential conflict with authority figures, leaders, or institutions as we may question their morality or integrity.

Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, is in Cancer, inviting us to expand our awareness around home, family, our belonging, and emotional foundations.

It offers the opportunity for healing through wise action and the authentic expression of our existence:

“Yes, I have a right to exist,” and

“Yes, this is what I believe.”

And yet, we must remember that everyone else has that same right.

Can we accept that too?

How did our ancestors navigate this balance?

If emotional connection is lacking, there is a risk of emotional outbursts or overindulgence, whether through eating, spending, or seeking comfort, especially with Venus conjunct the New Moon.

Some may experience deeper reflection on personal values, relationship dynamics, and potential endings or beginnings in partnerships.

Pressure on Old Systems: Saturn & Neptune in Pisces

The New Moon forms a square to Saturn and Neptune in Pisces, adding pressure to outdated social structures, institutional beliefs, religious systems, and ideological frameworks.

We are becoming more serious and discerning about the systems we participate in and the beliefs that uphold them.

On the collective level, we may be exposed to “truth bombs” or surprising revelations related to jobs, health, or economic conditions. This can trigger deeper questions about leadership, whether in families, villages, municipalities, cities, provinces, or national governments.

Truth is gradually filtering into every level of society, prompting the collective question:

“What is the meaning of all this ?,

How can I participate, through my beliefs and actions, in creating a new system with solid foundations, grounded spirituality for the benefit of all?”

Urgency around our unique resources: aspect to Uranus in Taurus

The process of disillusionment and dismantling the old world, the systems we once trusted, continues as we move toward the major global reset indicated for 2026–2027.

By the Full Moon in Sagittarius on May 31st 2026, we may witness a significant manifestation of the intentions set during this New Moon in Sagittarius.

Until April 17th, 2026, every New Moon will occur in the final degrees of its sign. Although New Moons symbolise new beginnings, these late degree lunations also represent endings, transitions, and turning points.

Each of these New Moons will form a direct aspect to Uranus in Taurus, creating both challenge and urgency around our unique individual resources, the talents, instincts, and inner values that will help us cultivate greater self-reliance and self-sufficiency for the years ahead.
